Hey there!
Last week, our school had a visitor who talked about his friend Abe. But the thing is, Abe was a Holocaust survivor! It was very interesting listening to his presentation. It was also shocking how people actually did all of that. He also told us this story: Abe was a chicken farmer. Back then, chicken was a very expensive food to eat. Beef and lamb were very cheap. Abe had an idea to strap a chicken on his leg underneath his pants and take it home! When he was running home, a soldier stopped him and asked what was in his pants. Abe couldn’t lie, or else he would get shot, so he told him. The soldier didn’t care and just walked away. It is crazy how some of the soldiers spared them, even though they made mistakes or stole chickens! We also heard many other stories about Abe going to concentration camps and how he was moved from place to place. It is truly horrible to hear what they did to Abe and many other people. It was an honor to be able to hear Mr. Goldberg’s story about Abe.
Thank you all for reading!
